Born in 1967 in Seoul (South Korea)
Has lived in France since age 11.
Degree in Fine Arts at École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts-Paris (1995).
Diploma of the École Nationale Supérieure Estienne-Paris (1989).
In my painting I am researching a singular universe, both enigmatic and off-beat. My pictures are peopled by strange creatures, beings, hybrid objects against backgrounds of disused industrial sites or sometimes theatricalized décors set apart from the world. It is a mental space, a narrative fiction. I like to create many –layered readings through a vocabulary of figures, signs, apparitions, unexpected situations .The picture becomes a meeting place between the real, what is readily observed and the dream, what is imagined. My pictures are more than a description of a particular scene, they have the same degree of reality and strangeness as dreams. They are perhaps a metaphor for our extra-ordinary world.
